What you're actually getting
Which syllabus is this built for?
The current IB Biology syllabus: the guide published in 2023 and first examined in May 2025. We follow its latest edition (updated May 2026, used from the May 2028 exams), which clarifies what students need to know and adds the official data booklet. Every lesson is written against the guide's syllabus statements, and questions follow the data booklet's notation and required diagrams. The questions are our own, written in the style of IB papers — they aren't past papers.
Are these real IB past papers?
No. They're original exam-style questions written to the real papers' structure, command terms and mark allocations, each with its own markscheme. Every question is tagged with the syllabus statement it assesses.
What exactly is free?
Two complete lessons — A1.1 Water and B1.1 Carbohydrates and lipids — with their notes, quizzes, skills practice and exam papers. The study notes for A1.2 Nucleic acids and B1.2 Proteins are free to read too, and revision slides are free on every lesson in all four themes. Students can also sit any paper a teacher shares by code.
Do students need an account?
Not to start. You can study the free lessons and sit a teacher's shared paper without signing up. Without an account, progress is saved on your own device; with a free account, it follows you to every device you sign in on.
How do share codes work?
A teacher builds a paper and gets a short code. Any student who pastes that code gets exactly that paper — same questions, same order, same timing — then marks their own work against the markscheme. No accounts, no files to email.
Do I see my students' results?
Yes, when you assign the paper to your class. Your students need an account to sit it. You see who has started and who has handed in, with each student's multiple-choice score, time taken and how often they left the test. The multiple-choice questions are ranked hardest first, so you know what to go over in class. Written answers are grouped by question next to the markscheme, for you to mark and comment on. Students see your marks and comments only when you choose to release them. A paper shared with the longer ordinary code is different: students mark their own work, and nothing is sent back to you.
Do you have a plan for schools?
Yes. A school plan gives Pro to every DP Biology teacher and student in your department, for one payment, and we set up all the accounts. The price depends on how many teachers and students you have, so request a quote with your school's name, country and numbers, and we'll reply within 2 working days.
Is SL and HL handled properly?
Yes. Pick a level and the question bank respects it: HL-only material never appears in an SL paper, and HL-only lessons aren't offered at SL.
